The story behind the film - Inspiration
When first deciding on the the look of the film we wanted to have some grit & grain on the picture. No gloss. We do not need to see every line and pore on an actors face. Sage, as a director, wanted to achieve a more dated look. Sage wanted the film to have neo-noir influences in style and tone. Ms Cutler is a crime film, a bit tongue in cheek with a splash of glam. Along with the films Harold & Maude; The Sweet Smell of Success and Fargo; the TV Shows, Dexter and Desperate Housewives, were inspiration. |
